A Few Good Men Mashed Up with Toy StoryIn the movie A Few Good Men, Jack Nicholson infamously loses it on the witness stand with an intense rant that has become known as "You can't handle the truth!" In the movie Toy Story, Randy Newman sings a catchy little theme song titled "You've Got a Friend in Me."These are very disparate movie elements, and it took the deranged mind of Dustin Ballard, also known as There I Ruined It to put them together and make it work. Warning: this is an earworm, and may cause you to sing the wrong lyrics to this song for the rest of your life. The dialogue contains NSFW language. -via Laughing Squid #AFewGoodMen #ToyStory #mashup #ThereIRuinedIt
There, I Mashed It UpThe YouTube channel There, I Ruined It has rightfully gathered internet acclaim for its brilliantly precise remixes of famous songs with very different musical styles. I especially enjoyed Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” as a ragtime tune and Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” as a German polka.Recently, the anonymous YouTuber responsible has been taking a different approach. S/he is mashing up two completely different songs to create results that are perfectly, offensively funny. The above video takes Rick Astley’s iconic “Never Gonna Give You Up” and puts it to the tune of the Star Wars “Imperial March” as stormtroopers board and seize the Tantive IV.-via The Awesomer#ThereIRuinedIt #Mashups #StarWars
The Jurassic Park Scene That Spielberg Most RegrettedYou have to admit it, this scene from the 1993 movie Jurassic Park stands out from the others. It doesn't make any sense, and even Steven Spielberg couldn't explain it in a manner we could all understand. The weirdest part is the music. Has it aged as well as it should? The most iconic quote from the movie may explain it somewhat.Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.Well, they shouldn't have. And they didn't. This is all the responsibility of the YouTuber we know and love by the name of There I Ruined It. -via Digg#JurassicPark #ThereIRuinedIt
If Smash Mouth's "All Star" Was Sung Like "My Heart Will Go On" in TitanicCeline Dion’s performance of “My Heart Will Go On” is the iconic musical signature of James Cameron’s 1997 epic romance Titanic. Smash Mouth’s song “All Star” followed two years later, closing out the decade and the century in the popular arts. They belong together. And thanks to the work of that noble YouTuber There I Ruined It, they are blended into one seamless whole. Steve Harwell sings a mournful song of a girl he met on a ship--a girl who cruelly spurned his affections. Hopefully he left her to sink as he clung to a floating door.#ThereIRuinedIt #SmashMouth #AllStar #Titanic #CelineDion
My Humps: Teletubbies VersionWhatever else you think about The Teletubbies, you have to admit they knew how to shake their booties to a good children's song. Their costumes were made with plenty of junk in the trunk (the result of eating Tubby Toast and Tubby Custard), and the kids that watched the show loved to dance along with them. So our favorite YouTube remixer, There I Ruined It, turned the Black Eyed Peas song "My Humps" into a bouncy children's ditty for Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa, and Po to dance to.
