A Touching Bridal SurpriseGet your hankies ready for this one! José Vitor Flach and Cíntia Bonfante Pereira got married the day before Brazil imposed pandemic restrictions in 2020. Cíntia is a speech therapist who works with children who have Down syndrome. Her new husband and bridal party arranged for her students to participate in the wedding ceremony as a surprise for the bride. She is moved to tears, a real problem when you've paid so much to have your makeup just right and the celebrations are just beginning. Notice how proud the groom is of the happiness he's conjured up by this gesture. The kids are adorable, especially the two in a car. They are trying to steer while an attendant with a remote control override keeps them on track. A good time was had by all. -via reddit#bride #wedding #surprise #Downsyndrome
When This 11-Year-Old Student with Down Syndrome was Bullied, the President of the Country Walked Her to SchoolEmbla Ademi is an 11-year-old elementary school student just like any North Macadonian children her age. However, Ademi’s a little more special because she was born with Down Syndrome. Too bad, some kids just can’t appreciate her specialness and end up bullying her.Somehow, the president of the country heard about the situation and did the unthinkable. Upon learning of Embla’s plight, President Stevo Pendarovski saw a way to support the girl while promoting inclusivity in the country. He visited her and her family to learn about the challenges of their daily life and brainstorm ideas to better assist children with Down Syndrome. He then walked her to school and escorted her all the way to the building. He stated his wish that the public show of support would help Embla with the bullying issue while also shedding light on the importance of inclusion and equality in education as a basic principle.#bullying #DownSyndrome #NorthMacedonia #president #StevoPendarovski
