From ABC News (Australia), the news is awful. Therapists tell clients all the time to stop watching the news, because it's awful, and not good for your stress levels. Mark Humphries is working hard to find something in the news that isn't awful, but wherever he turns, the news is awful. To be honest, there was something in this newscast about Minions: The Rise of Gru, but they can't decide whether that's good or just awful like everything else. Sometimes you just have to laugh about how awful everything is.
But then you need to stop and think about the nature of news. To be news, something out of the ordinary has to happen. Good things happen all the time, but they don't make the news because they aren't unusual enough. Good things are ordinary, which in itself is a good thing. Maybe therapists have it right. If the news is awful, turn it off and look around you for the good things going on in the world. I would suggest a trip to Supa Fluffy. -via Digg
