With the average price of gas nationwide hovering at about $4, it’s hard to imagine filling up your car on the cheap these days, but lucky drivers in North Carolina were able to get a gallon of gas for just $2.25.
Owners of a gas station in Burnsville, North Carolina wanted to join others in helping drivers during this recent oil price hike.
Drivers were very thankful. "I think that's really great and kind of them to do that for people around here like us," customer Caylie Vess said. "I think it's really good of them."
It took about five hours for the station to run out of cheap gas. The station owners planned to drop the price again soon.
