World War II Veteran Reinvented Himself at 95 Years Old by Becoming a Children's Book Author
It’s never too late to find a new career or passion!Retired World War II veteran Sam Baker discovered his talent and passion for writing children’s books at the age of 95. In an interview with Military.com’s Melissa Stewart, the writer shared that he started his venture into fiction because he had spare time and a computer. “It was a perfect time and I wrote my first book,” he said. His storybooks were written to encourage children of all ages to learn to read. In addition, Baker wanted to impart the message of acceptance through his writing. Now, the 99-year-old is releasing his second book, called “Oscar The Mouse,” which was based on the pet rat he had when he was young.
