At first glance, Solomon Methvin of Portland, Oregon seems like a typical 9-year-old boy. He likes to run. He loves Pokemon cards. He also loves math. What’s not typical about this homeschooled kid is just how good he is at math.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Solomon loves math so much that he often spent time doing the math practice section of the SAT. After a while his parents decided to sign him up for the real test. He sat for the SAT in the Fall of 2022. He ended up scoring 750 on the math portion. That’s a near perfect score in math.&nbsp;&nbsp;What motivates a kid like Solomon to do well on the SAT? A love of math and of course a motivational chart. What was on said motivational chart? The opportunity to buy more Pokemon cards. He received a certain amount of money depending on his SAT math score.
