Honeymooners From Bristol, Rhode Island Help Rescue Babies From Burning Building in SpainDoran Smith and David Squillante finally had an opportunity to go on their honeymoon after two years of waiting (because of the global health crisis). And maybe fate prepared this honeymoon for them, as this was one event they would never forget. As the Bristol couple strolled over a park in Spain, they noticed a group of women panicking, and then they saw the flame coming out of the doorway. Realizing that there was an ongoing fire, Squillante's "instinct took over." He immediately ran inside the building (which was a nursery). Despite the language barrier between the couple and the people who helped rescue the babies, "everything turned out to be OK," according to Squillante. "I found myself looking at 15, 20 babies sleeping, and immediately just kind of lined everyone up and we started grabbing them, putting into the crib," Squillante recounts the story. After the short but intense rescue operation, the heroic couple went on their tour like an ordinary day. (Image Credit: Doran Smith) #Wholesome #Babies #Rescue
80-Year-Old Man Walked Through a Blizzard to Save 7 Strangers Stranded in a SnowstormNot all heroes wear capes, some wear parkas. When Shannon St. Onge sent a distress call online after getting lost in a  Saskatchewan highway during a whiteout blizzard, a stranger who happened to be in the area came to the rescue. Along the way, he even discovered six others who were in the same predicament and was able to direct them all to safety. The man is Andre Bouvier, Sr, an 80-year-old retiree. He got the plea for help that Shannon posted on the community Facebook page and immediately went into action despite his wife’s concern. Bouvier identified her location (she’d pinned her location on Google Maps), bundled up and walked half a kilometer (about a third of a mile) in the storm when his tractor wouldn’t start. Once he was able to save the seven stranded motorists, he even took them to his house to rest for the night.Image: Shannon St. Onge#snowstorm #blizzard #rescue #Canada #Saskatchewan
Woman Looked out Her Window During a Work Video Meeting and Saved 3 LivesA woman was working from home when she saw a fishing boat that was about to sink. Pam Harght was in a work video call in Marshfield, Boston when she saw the boat. "It looked like the boat was taking on water, which I guess at the time, it had actually rolled, and then I saw a dark cloud of smoke and then the boat disappeared," she told CNN. "That was probably in a matter of 60 or 90 seconds."She initially assumed that rescuers were on the way. When she didn’t see any response, she excused herself from the work meeting and called 911. It turns out that the boat sank so fast that the crew members weren’t able to send a distress call to the authorities. Harght’s call was the only report of the incident. Her call enabled the rescuers to save the three fishermen in the boat. They were in the water for almost an hour, without any life jackets or survival suits. The men were only clinging to floating fishing gear to survive.Image credit: Lieutenant Eric Norlin/SFO via CNN#rescue #luck  #boatsinking #911
