Witty Street Art By Frankey Brings Life To Public Spaces

These set pieces bring life to certain parts of the city and do a good job of not being an obstruction at all.

Meet Frank de Ruwe, a street artist based in Amsterdam going by the name of “Frankey.” His take on the field of art relies on humor and subtlety, but his works still show how creative he gets and how unrestrained he is by the limitations of time and space. Another aspect that makes him well-known is how his creations can appear in different locations, surprising people who pass by his chosen area. It’s more of an easter egg hunt for those looking for his work every week.

One of our favorite pieces from Frankey is his take on Darth Vader, the iconic villain in the Star Wars franchise. The street artist brought him from his enormous space lair to a random canal and sat patiently fishing with his lightsaber turned makeshift fishing pole.
