What if George Lucas had Directed 2001: A Space Odyssey?

P. L. Poakwoods remixed the 1969 Stanley Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey in the style of George Lucas. Fortunately for us, he dispensed with the first two hours or so by incorporating all the exposition into the opening crawl.

Last year, he did the opposite, and gave us Star Wars as directed by Stanley Kubrick. It's a bit longer, as you might have guessed, but still much shorter than the original. Kubrick's leisurely exposition means that the entire video is only the opening scene of Star Wars IV: A New Hope.

And like the original, we didn't learn a thing, but it sure is pretty. Check out more of Poakwoods' science fiction mashup at his YouTube channel
