What I love about this cartoon by Jim Benton is that, I think, every person is capable of having the same reaction to it. All of us are the mom, who stares into the future with cynical dread.
The are various edits of this cartoon to reflect different and even completely opposed political perspectives. All of us think that Benton is speaking from our side. And, sadly, he is speaking for all of us.
Those with limited perspective are laughing at the sheep. Those of us with a bit broader perspective are laughing at the people laughing at the sheep.
