The Real Church Ladies of Burndale is a "reality" TV series from the folks at It's a Southern Thing. We thought is was a one-off when episode one established that the drama queens of the church are super serious about who rules the congregation. Now episode two brings us the drama of staging the church's annual Easter play. It turned into such a mess that they didn't tell us about it for a week afterward.
The trouble starts when Terry, who is in charge of the play, decides to bring in a younger actor to play the part of Jesus. Linda's husband Phil has been playing Jesus for forty years and she is not happy about the change. Linda seems to be a lot more invested in that role than Phil is, because that sort of thing can be very important to a Southern Church Lady. Bless her heart.
