Now, this guy moved a long mile, indeed!
Thanks to strong gusty winds, a floating home in Oregon managed to get blasted into another state. The house was anchored in the Columbia River, and the winds were able to pull it away from its location.
Thankfully, no one was inside the home during the time of the incident. According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, the owner was notified and is now working to re-secure the house.
The owner was able to retrieve the home that flew to the state lines of Washington. But just how strong were the winds to make a heavy home fly like paper to another state?
Well, the wind gusts recorded were 30 to 40 mph throughout the area. At this strength, trees and other plants were uprooted from the ground. From this alone, it isn’t that surprising that a home floating in the water would be taken away.
