The Saturday after the 94th Academy Awards, SNL showed the comedy sketch titled "Seat Fillers" featuring stand-up comedian Jerrod Carmichael as an Oscars seat filler meeting his hero Will Smith (played by Chris Redd) for the first time. In the skit, the slap was never directly shown - the brilliance of the skit was the interaction of the characters afterwards.
By the way, if you're wondering, a seat filler is a person assigned to occupy an empty seat (like if the person who's sitting at that location had to get up on stage). This way, when the camera pans to show the audience, there's no empty seat in the theater.
