Pillow fighting used to just be a harmless before bed game played mostly by children and teens, but now it has earned a spot in the championships.
The Pillow Fighting Championship, held in Florida, is a new combat sport that seeks to appeal to the international family. The concept of the championship centers around a previously unheard of combo—mixed martial arts competitors using pillows as weapons. After several one-on-one matches between sixteen men and eight women, the championship finally crowned its first ever champions, Brazilian Istela Nunes and American Hauley Tillman. The winners brought home a title belt and $5,000 each.
