At one time, consumer products were unregulated and a lot of people were harmed or even killed by untested ingredients, fillers, and deliberate dilution to enhance profits. After the FDA was established, products began to be tested on animals to see if they were safe, and then tested on human volunteers to benefit the general public. But who looks out for the animal subjects? It's always good news when a manufacturing company takes the plunge and turns to computer modeling, simulations, and robots to test their products. That saves a lot of innocent animals from being subjects of experiments. It just makes sense. Until it doesn't.
Something tells me they didn't think their plan all the way through. There's a big difference between testing a product for safety and testing a product for quality. And now some hungry dogs are out of a job. This comic is from Alzward's Corner. -via Geeks Are Sexy ā
