A dashcam captured the moment a lightning strike caused a manhole in Bukit Batok West, Singapore, to explode in a fireball.
The dashcam footage of the manhole explosion and the photos of the subsequent damage were uploaded by redditor spartacurse. In the discussion thread, a commenter suggested that the lightning bolt didn't actually strike the manhole cover. Instead, it hit a lightning rod of the nearby building. That lightning protection system might have been wrongly connected to sanitary pipes, which caused a gas explosion in the manhole.
