Man Drills A Wall Only To Find A Surprise

Life certainly gives you surprises, especially when you least expect them (well, it is a surprise, after all).

An owner of a California-based pest control company was working on the walls of a client’s house in Santa Rosa when he uncovered something… interesting. The man, Nick Castro, was initially hired to address damage in the home caused by a woodpecker. Part of his routine visit was to check the walls of the home.

Upon drilling on one wall, Castro was shocked to find a big stash of acorns. They were flooding out of the opening he made. “They just kept coming and coming, nonstop,” Castro said. “Acorns were thought to be only about a quarter of the way up the wall. Turned out, they were piled high up to the attic of the house.”

He amassed a total of 700 pounds of acorns, which was able to fill eight large trash bags. Woodpeckers are known to peck holes into the sides of houses. No one just expected that these animals would store that many nuts.

After cleaning up all the acorns, he was able to tend to the damage done to the house. Hopefully, the woodpecker responsible for that stash won’t undo his repairs!
