The art of the mashup is to meld two disparate ideas and make them work together satisfactorily. That doesn't mean they have to make sense. According to Wikipedia, Balenciaga is a French luxury fashion house founded in 1919. Their catalog has t-shirts that will cost you hundreds of dollars and shoes and handbags at a couple of thousand. The point is that they look expensive, as you can see these fashions are modeled by Star Wars characters.
While the characters are all recognizable, they are strangely blended with fashion models in a manner that makes their noble mission seem downright frivolous. That goes double for The Lord of the Rings for Balenciaga.
However, the royal characters from Game of Thrones look downright at home in these expensive clothes.
Abandoned Films created these mashups with the artificial intelligence program Midjourney. This seems to be the proper use for the program, since no one will take it seriously. I hope.
Lest you think these are isolated incidents, YouTuber No Reruns responded with Marvel superheroes by Balenciaga.
And DC superheroes by Gucci.
There's even a tutorial for making your own mashup, if you prefer some other pop culture franchise or fashion company. It references this Harry Potter by Balenciaga mashup. ā
