We usually go back to our family homes during holidays or on our days off just so we can visit our loved ones, and get a taste of our mom or grandmother’s cooking. The stereotype that their food brings comfort and warmth in our hearts is true. It does invoke a sense of nostalgia and love.
What’s not true is how our beloved grandmothers are only bound to their homes. This is proven by a group of women in America that decided to open and run a multi-cuisine restaurant in New York City.
These ‘nonnas’ are serving their recipes in an Italian wine bar and restaurant named Enoteca Maria. Located in Staten Island, the women come from different parts of the world and add their dishes to the menu.
If you’re interested in coming to the restaurant, we’d like to note that you need to make reservations weeks before your visit. This is because the restaurant never runs short of patrons.
