One of these days, you might see a friend's baby chewing on a GameBoy frame or an NES controller. When that happens, don't panic. And don't swat the object off the baby's hands, either. Chances are it's just the new teethers manufactured by baby product manufacturer Bumkins. And yes, they do look like the real thing. They're just made out of silicone. (Of course, the product is lab-tested and does not contain harmful chemicals, so it's safe for the baby.)
Many Nintendo-inspired products are out there in the market. The big difference between those products and these teethers is the fact that Nintendo licensed these. Yup. Nintendo gave Bumkins the blessing to create (and sell) these teethers. That's bonkers if you ask me.
āTechnabob, however, raises a good question: if the baby grows up using these teethers, would he be able to distinguish between the teether and the real thing? Time might be the only one to answer that, I think.
