E.T. Made From Tootsie Roll

We'll phone home for this ingenious piece of Tootsie Roll sculpture!

Indie artist Amanda Lynn Dalley created a tiny E.T. the Extraterrestrial out of two pieces of Tootsie Rolls.  I think now we know that the "T" in E.T. stands for "Tootsie"!

Tootsie Roll trivia for you: The candy was invented in 1896 by Leo Hirschfield, who wanted a chocolate-tasting candy that wouldn't melt in the heat. He named his creation - a chewy candy somewhere between a caramel and a taffy but without being either - after his 5-year-old daughter Clara whose nickname was "Tootsie."

Take a look at the Tootsie Roll Factory as featured in this 1995 clip from ABC World News Now
