Well, he certainly got what he asked for.
The now-viral footage was shared by a ranger working at the Mala Mala Game Reserve in South Africa. The video shows a cheetah teasing and taunting a large male lion. After a few moments, the chase began – which was not really that surprising. “A young male cheetah has been seen spending quite some time around Mala Mala Game Reserves Private Airstri,” Kevan Dobbie, assistant head ranger at the game reserve, shared. “on this particular day, it was a sighting where being at the right place at the right time paid off.”
While the cheetah did, as the kids say, screw around and find out, he was able to wiggle out of the jaws of the lion as the larger cat species didn’t manage to catch up to him. “One of the Ndzhenga male lions didn’t appreciate the teasing and pursued the young male cheetah. The cheetah knew he had an advantage and kept the lion at a comfortable distance,” Dobbie explained. “Eventually, the lion lost interest, and both lions plopped down and lazy lounged around the airstrip.”
