In another case of fact being stranger than fiction, an Australian romance novelist - who once published a novel titled How to Murder Your Husband - has just been convicted of murdering her husband. Seventy-one-year-old Nancy Crampton Brophy was found guilty of committing second-degree murder on her husband, chef Daniel Brophy, 63.
The homicide occurred in 2018 at the culinary institute where Daniel Brophy had been working. Nancy was caught on surveillance camera leaving the crime scene at the time of the murder. Furthermore, she also owned the same model of gun that had killed her husband. Although the murder weapon was never found, a prosecutor accused Nancy of swapping out the barrel of the gun used in the shooting and then discarding the barrel. The most chilling part: Nancy had written the same scenario in her novel.
