We honestly don’t know whether to feel bad about this reveal or laugh at the sheer hilarity of it.
Rich people certainly have different ways of spending their money. One of the luxuries they can afford is to buy a superyacht, a large and luxurious pleasure vessel– and pleasure they certainly got on these vehicles. These sea boats come with a crew that helps owners to maintain their yachts, as well as provided different services just like stewards on a plane.
Speaking of stewards, one woman who lived and worked on a pleasure vessel was able to share some of the worst parts of her job with Express.co.uk. The stewardess, who remained anonymous, is currently based in Southern France.
What she doesn’t like about her job is a task that’s not explicitly written in job listings and contracts: hiding things that the owner’s spouse would not like. She continues to provide context by explaining that certain yacht owners would invite "mesdames" on their yachts. These people are women who come to spend the day on board.
Since her boss (the owner of the yacht) has a wife and kids, they ensure that they hide all the things that the owner’s mesdames leave on board. “Every time we have a woman on board, we have to hide the things of the other women somewhere else so she doesn't see it,” she explained. “He has three regular women including his real wife. So every time he wants to bring someone else he texts me saying 'next week this one is coming'.”
The stewardess and the other members of the crew then go and change everything from the rooms, empty the wardrobes, and place the other woman’s belongings in there. She also admits that above all, her job is to hide everything from the owner’s wife so she doesn’t see it.
