Did you leave your Jack-o-Lantern out for the neighborhood wildlife to enjoy? If the squirrels weren't nibbling on your pumpkin before Halloween, they've probably availed themselves of it afterward. That goes for skunks, raccoons, and opossums, too. If you pitch your pumpkin out in the woods, deer will eat it. But it will most likely be squirrels nibbling on your Halloween gourd. But it's not always the delicious bounty they think it will be.
