A Bag of Doritos Will Now Have 5 Fewer Chips Due to Inflation

Inflation is about to affect the number of chips a person can devour in a bag. Unfortunately, Doritos is one of those chips.

Inflation caused Frito Lay to make their chips smaller. “Inflation is hitting everyone … we took just a little bit out of the bag so we can give you the same price and you can keep enjoying your chips,” a representative from Frito-Lay said.

According to Quartz, the previous bag that was 9.76 oz. is now 9.25 oz. —  that’s five fewer chips.

Other products that downsized included Bounty Triples which had 165 sheets before and now has 147 sheets. This is three fewer sheets per roll or 18 fewer uses. Wheat Thins also reduced the quantity of their crackers. They went from 16 oz. box to a 14 oz. box, which is 28 fewer crackers. PepsiCo also reduced their 32 oz. size bottle to a 28 oz. bottle for the same price. That's "shrinkflation" for you!

Seems like the upside of inflation may be that it can help you lessen your calorie intake, little by little.
